And when you learn to pivot with passion, your world expands. Explodes with opportunities. Go grab your favorite beverage and let's shake things up as we explore how to pivot with passion.
Hello, my friend and welcome.
It was a cool summer evening. And I found myself inside. A red and white striped circus tent.
Sitting on cold black. Metal folding chairs, shoulder to shoulder with some girlfriends.
Ready to watch. My first Cirque du Soleil.
I had no idea what I was in for. I mean, I understood the concept of Cirque du Soleil there's music. There's a story. There's actors. There's. Gymnast's.
But I wasn't prepared. For what I was about to experience.
From the moment. The first note of music started.
And the gymnast and actors came out from behind the stage. I had goosebumps. The way these individuals carried themselves. How they gracefully moved through the space
How they relied on each other. For specific movements. Sometimes hurling themselves through. Hoops or standing on top of each other's shoulders. Or what I found to be the most fascinating and magical piece. Of Cirque du Soleil. Where the.
Acrobats who slid down. Gorgeous silk scarves. From the very top. Of this. Tent.
Goosebumps.
if you have never been to a Cirque du Soleil show live. Put that on your bucket list. Although you can see them on television or. specials.
You don't get the full experience unless you are sitting in the same room. under the same lights. As the people that you are watching. Because in those moments is when you will experience complete. awe.
From the top of your head. To the tip of your toes. It is that. Magical. When you are sharing the space with these incredible individuals.
The strength, grace finesse speed.
That these individuals displayed.
Was mind blowing.
I remember when I was leaving that evening, I had two thoughts. One. Holy crap. I'm lazy. I have no discipline. And why can't I make it to the gym to work out. But the second thought. was, what if I could make it to the gym? And achieve just a fraction. Uh, of what I experienced tonight. Now that. Would be phenomenal.
That was one of the first times as an adult. That I was in complete. awe,
Of what someone else was doing.
And that doesn't happen enough.
When you think about it, kids are always in awe. Before a child can even start to form memories, their mind, tricks them to believe.
That people actually disappear if they put their hands in front of their face. And then suddenly magically. They're in awe because
The person no sooner disappeared. Then suddenly the hands move away. And the person is right. Back in front of them. Truly are inspiring.
To a baby.
But as we go through life, We lose that sense of awe and wonder in lieu of more quote, practical endeavors. School following the rules.
Making other people proud of us.
I'm sure you can think of many other examples where quote, practical endeavors. Sneak in. But you get the point.
There's no shortage of distractions. Keeping us living a life of fine. As adults.
When I was envisioning this podcast and what I wanted it to ultimately be. There were three pillars that were extremely important to me.
That I wanted to make sure I always shared. At least one with you. In each episode.
First. I want you to be inspired by possibility.
The second.
I want you to feel empowered, to make new choices. And the third. I want you to be excited. For your future. Because my friend life is too short. To settle. For fine.
How many times have you caught yourself? Saying that. To anyone in your life, how are you doing? I'm fine. How has work? It's fine.
How's the house, apartment, car. they're fine. Everything's fine.
Y when we get to be adults. Does fine. Slide in and become some default.
That we accept.
That we find.
Okay to tell another person I'm fine.
Somewhere along the way. From being awe inspired. By someone disappearing in front of our face. Too. Adulthood.
We let go. Of being in awe. Of things around us.
This episode, I really want you to think about how can I kick fine. To the curb.
And invite more on. Into my life.
Now.
Here in Northeast, Ohio, it is full on fall weather. And I'm so grateful that I live somewhere. That has. Trees that turn.
Radiant. Shades of red and yellow and orange. It's.
awe. Inspiring. If I do say so myself.
It's time for a clarity cocktail.
I may have shared this with you before, but it's something I really feel passionate about, and that is. We make things. So much harder than they need to be.
I have spent. Minutes now talking to you about. Being in awe. Of something.
And although
You should put a live Cirque de Solei on your bucket list.
It doesn't have to be that hard. To capture. awe.
In our day-to-day life.
I was taking a walk yesterday.
And I came across. This leaf. It was huge. It looked like a maple leaf. It was as big as my head. It was bigger than two of my hands put together. So I stopped. Walking. I picked it up. And I took a picture. I made sure that the light. Was hitting it just right. So that the image would show all of the texture and the color of this one leaf.
And then I dropped it. And kept walking.
That was a moment of awe. And it didn't cost me. Anything.
And that's the little piece of clarity I want to give you today Finding moments or items that are awe inspiring. Are around you all the time. We simply need to. Go for a walk. Or take a pause and look around and be intent. With. What you're looking at, what you're hearing. What you're smelling.
Because being able.
To have numerous moments of awe. In your day in your week, in the month.
Help to keep. Your mind. Open. And expanding and grateful.
And the mix of all three of those things. I
will truly help you kick. Fine. To the curb.
a fine walk. Is not noticing anything. It's moving your body to go around the block.
But a phenomenal walk. Is one where you take your time. And you take it all in. And it costs nothing for you to do that.
get rid of the excuses. That. I can't find awe. And yes, I used to be one of those people because I am so driven. To execute, execute, execute. Do one more thing. Check one more box.
That it was very easy for me to go through a day, a week, a month. Never having experienced a massive amount of awe. In my life.
And now that I'm making a more conscious effort. To find that.
In the world around me.
It kind of makes me feel like a kid again.
As I was finishing up my walk. I ran across another. What looked like maple leaf. But this one. Was bright red. And the size of a quarter.
Just like. The Firstleaf. I took a picture. Making sure the sun hit it. So that you could see all the little nuances and the.
Magnificent.
Burning red color.
And I just kind of was in awe. Of how. Beautifully. Nature paints the fall. For us to enjoy. And if you don't live somewhere, That has a fall. With multiple colors. Get out of box of crayons. And draw some.
Because you may just.
Feel like a kid again.
And remember. How much magic you could create using crayons.
Okay. So I went from leaves. To crayons.
But I think you get it.
Do your best. To find. awe.
In your everyday.
I promise your effort will not be wasted.
And now, back to the episode. Cheers.
Circling back to the idea of. Fine.
let me just remind you fine is a four letter F word. Okay, just let that sink in for a minute.
It's my hope. That if you are inspired by possibility, empowered to make new choices and excited for your future. You want, awe, And.
Wonder. In your life.
how would you know if that's missing?
If you. In any aspect of your life, have ever felt stuck. Or frustrated.
Or exhausted.
Those are clues.
And they're. Present. To help you. Take notice. And realize something needs to change.
There's a good bet. You're lacking in the, or. Uh, department.
I've talked a lot in previous episodes about red marker moments and that before you pivot with passion, You first need.
To start the process with a red marker moment.
And that moment. Is simply you declaring what you want. Claiming a vision for your future and knowing that. You are worthy. And important.
And deserve. Everything.
That you desire?
here's the cool thing about awe.
If you want to pivot with passion. awe, Is the flashlight. That shows you the path. To help you believe that pivoting is possible. And you can do it. With passion.
there are three things I want you to take away from this episode today. First. You definitely need to see a live Cirque de Solei. Second. Remember fine. Is a four letter F word.
And lastly. If you're looking to pivot in your life.
The best way is to kickstart your effort. With a heaping dose. Of awe.
In your daily life.
